A fascinating story about two lone soldiers who in 1947 were inspired by the November, 29 UN vote to partition British Mandatory Palestine into Jewish and Arab states. For the first time in 2000 years Jews were about to have a chance to rule over themselves.
Like many others seeking a way to reach the eastern shores of the Mediterranean and help their people, they sailed aboard a former US presidential yacht which was recommissioned into a ship for smuggling Jews out of Europe and brought hundreds of refugees to new lives in the fledgling State of Israel. It’s a tale of that remarkable time, just out of the ashes of the Holocaust.
